About the vineyard[+]
Biodynamic winegrowing. Vineyards with a natural vegetation covering generate biodiversity, fertility, and soil life. Fertilizer from the winery’s own animals is used and plant-based infusions as phytotherapy to reduce the use of products like copper sulphate and sulphur. The Vinya del Llac plot, home to the Xarel·lo grapes, was planted between 1974 and 1990. Its clay soils over limestone bedrock are north-facing. The Macabeo grapes grow in the La Plana vineyard. The lowest altitude plot (135-151 metres) boasts flat north-facing deep chalky soils with a clay loam texture from the sediments deposited by the river Anoia. Parellada grapes thrive in the Les Barberes and Les Oliveres south-facing plots at altitudes between 157 and 179 metres. Their characteristic marine-origin soils date back to the Miocene period. The Malvasía de Sitges vines grow in a small 1.5 hectare plot called Viña de la Plana.
