Marqués de Murrieta 2021 Marqués de Murrieta 2021 is one of the most renowned red wines from the Rioja Qualified Designation of Origin. Produced by the historic Marqués de Murrieta winery at its iconic Finca Ygay estate in Rioja Alta, it represents the classic Rioja style with greater precision and freshness. The 2021 vintage in Rioja was rated as Very Good by the DOCa Rioja Regulatory Council, following a balanced growing cycle and an excellent harvest. This translates into a wine with good concentration, defined acidity, and great capacity for evolution. It is made mainly from Tempranillo, accompanied by Graciano, Mazuelo, and Garnacha from the winery's own vineyards.

About the vineyard[+]
The grapes come from Finca Ygay, located between 320 and 485 metres above sea level in Rioja Alta. The soils are mainly calcareous clay, with good drainage capacity. This combination of altitude, orientation, and soil composition allows for slow ripening, favouring wines with structure, balance, and natural freshness.
