El Nido · 2023
El Nido is, in a way, the flip side of Clío. Where Monastrell takes the leading role in Clío, in El Nido it's Bordeaux's Cabernet Sauvignon that steps into the spotlight, a grape that asserts its character and shapes a wine that grips you from start to finish. El Nido shows a dense, dark cherry colour with bluish tears in the glass. Its nose is expressive, with blueberry and blackberry aromas joined by mineral notes, tobacco and chocolate; the toasted background from the barrel adds an extra layer of complexity to a wine that is mature yet, at the same time, easy to drink and understand. It finishes juicy and balsamic, making it clear why international critics rate it so highly.
