El Enemigo Chardonnay · 2023
Argentina has spent years, through its own hard work, gaining a huge reputation on the international wine scene. The Malbec grape, forgotten in virtually every other corner of the world (with the exception of Cahors), has catapulted Argentinian reds into standards of the highest quality. However, broadly speaking, we could say that its white wines are less well-known, excepting perhaps the aromatic Torrontés. The wine under our consideration here shows that Argentina isn't only a land of reds, and many other grapes can produce splendid wines at these latitudes. El Enemigo Chardonnay is an amazing wine, which will delight both experts and neophytes. It combines the Chardonnay grape's best attributes, French barrels and biological ageing masterfully, taking Mendoza white wine to a level of complexity hitherto unimagined until recently.
