José Pariente Verdejo · 2025

4.5/5
194 reviews

The José Pariente Verdejo is one of the great reference points for the Rueda DO. An evocative and extremely pleasant wine, with a definite unctuous feel, and all that you could ask for from a Verdejo as regards freshness, good acidity, herbaceous and floral aromas, and that typical bitter touch. Produced by a winery which favours hand-crafted viticulture, as a way of life, while also being a strong advocate for research and development; run by a family committed to sustainability, a benchmark in quality, innovation and the cutting-edge.

About the vineyard[+]

It is produced using grapes from both the family vineyards which are over 30 years old and from other old vines cultivated by smaller vine-growers under the firm's supervision. The diversity of soils and terroir means each bottle of José Pariente Verdejo captures the complexity of DO Rueda vines. Poor soils with limestone and pebbles, combined with an Atlantic-influenced continental climate forces the vines to dig deep to find sustenance.
