Bodega las Calzadas

El Imperio · 2023

PAR91/100PEÑ92/100

El Imperio is the second single-parcel wine from Bodega Las Calzadas, born after El Santillo and one of the project’s most personal expressions. It comes from the Las Calzadas site, where two century-old ungrafted micro-parcels are preserved, with more than 100 years of age, recovered and brought back to life by the family’s new generation. This wine is a tribute to old vineyards and to the area’s traditional genetic diversity. It is made mainly from Bobal (50%), accompanied by Garnacha tinta (30%) and 20% of ancestral varieties present in the parcel —including Pardilla, Coloraíllo, Pintáilla, Rojal and Cojón de Gallo— which ferment together, respecting the vineyard’s original character.
